It’s the first of April and that can mean only one thing…
8 8 OneLove FM El Cerritmo 97.7 San Pablo, KECG. Kindling Evolving Culture Grooves. worldOnelove soul sound unity.
Or, you know, something like that.
This is actually Radio EdSoft Films. Episode 23.17 – worldFoolin’ 12th EDition. You can tell things are a little bit different. But that’s okay. This is how I started in radio, after all. All those years ago, in the basement of the old El Cerrito High School, nervously playing records like only the 17 year old me could.
I got a call a couple weeks ago from dj worldOnelove themself, and they kind of made me wonder how much longer their era will last. There’s a chance that this could be the last worldFoolin’ episode to broadcast over the airwaves, if it even makes it that far. Hence, the indulgent outro. It’s a little scary to think about. Hopefully the pandemic will not be the end for worldOne @ KECG.
There’s always mixcloud, I suppose. I hope you enjoy this.
EdSoft Films was a little light on any films in the past year or so. In fact, last summer, the video we were working on didn’t even get finished. That never really sat right with me, and I returned to form for this year’s 19th annual worldOne festival here in El Cerrito.
I hope you enjoy that video. It’s actually pretty good.
Special thanks go to Connie Chin for helping out with the titles and graphics. Which I guess technically makes this a Co-Ed Production…
At any rate, the festival is rapidly approaching. I’ll once again be going light this year, as I don’t think there will be many folks able to help me. However, I intend to get some cool new perspectives this year. Need to get some good footage, after all, as 2018 is the 20th annual worldOne festival. Gotta do something special for that. Which might mean there will be some more EdSoft Films in the coming year.
Video produced by EdSoftFilms for the worldOne festival.
Oh right it’s Sunday.
April 1st at that.
It’s a little too late in the day for me to be coming up with April Fools jokes, but what I do have is this year’s edition of worldOne on Radio EdSoft Films. I think it came out pretty good. Have a listen below (pre-announce version, all music in other words, not ready for terrestrial broadcast but perfect for an internet player).
Last week was pretty packed, now that I think about it. I got my first full month’s paycheck, I went to a wonderful symphony, I posted a nearly 2000 word review of two movies, got some stuff done at the radio station, and I made two radio shows.
Still not satisfied, of course, got a ways to go. I still need to review two more movies, and record the terrestrial versions of these radio shows, with a lot of other KECG related stuff to follow. I missed out on a chance to go to a Warriors game with family. I didn’t get to go swimming, now for two weeks in a row. I had a lazy weekend, doing practically nothing.
But there’s always stuff to look forward to. Baseball returns to the bay area TOMORROW, and I’m going. Just had a nightmare realization that I have no idea how I’m going to park near PacBell Park…
While I’m sharing radio shows, I hope you will listen to this other show too, heavily influenced by the Zelda symphony from last week. I’m really proud of both of the radio edsoft films this week. Please give them a listen. When I get around to recording the announcements, I’ll give them their own posts. Consider this a preview.
